"Strengthing Our Lynx"

Welcome to our 2^nd year at Bon Lin Middle School.  It is hard to believe we are starting a new school year.  I hope you enjoyed your time with your family this summer and are ready for an exciting school year!

“Strengthening Our Lynx” is the theme the Bon Lin Middle School PTSA chose for this year.  The best way I know to “Strengthen Our Lynx” is to join the PTSA.  Studies have proved that when parents are involved in school activities their children do better in school.  Education is one of the best gifts we give our children and their level of education will shape their future.  The PTA has had a significant impact on improving the education and well-being of America’s children for 113 years.  We are not here just to be encouragers to the school’s administration and faculty, but to work effectively to improve our school and to develop student leadership.  You will notice there is an “S” in PTSA.  The “S” stands for students.  Students are a part of our organization in middle school alongside their parents and teachers.  We are excited to have three student representatives on our Board of Managers this year.  Parents, please be a role model by joining the PTSA alongside your student.

Communication will be a key in “Strengthening Our Lynx”.   Please let me know what you like about our school and what you think will improve it.  Your PTSA board stands ready to serve you and your family. PTA/PTSA PURPOSES

• To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship.

• To raise the standards of home life.

• To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.

• To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.

• To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.

PTA/PTSA MISSION

The  mission of the PTA/PTSA is three-fold:

• To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools,
  in the community, and before governmental agencies and other
  organizations that make decisions affecting children;

• To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and
  protect their children; and

• To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools
  of this nation.
